The filmmaker from Austria, made a reality documentation film in the north of Tanzania, about the fish business which I did not know about, DARWIN’S NIGHTMERE.
The filmmaker became a number one enemy to the government and he will never be allowed to enter Tanzania again, just because of the film that showed the truth and reality of what is ging on in the north part of Tanzania, Mwanza. My fellow Tanzanians live in a poverty life by eating only the bones of the fish while the steaks or the nice meat from fish goes to Europe and other parts of the world, in what way people have to live like this while Mwanza seem to be one of the well developed cities in Tanzania, the only few Indians and other corrupted bosses get the money and leave the workers live like animals, the children of those fishermen have no future at all, hanging around the shore of Lake Victoria looking for the thrown away bones while the steak is gone.
We sell the fresh steak to other people just for the money and let our own people live like a lost dog looking for bones of the left over, it is really sad to see this happening because it does not make a situation better other than really worse.
Women start to sell their bodies(Umalaya) to the pilots who are waiting to fly with the steaks to Europe, when planes fly back to Tanzania, Mwanza, always carry the weapons and arms to sell to the rebels in the neighbour country (Congo)
by the way the documtary film was nominated at the OSCAR ACADEMY AWARDS for the best foreign language documentation.
