African Cup of Nations 2008

It started (21.01.2008) with the opening match between Ghana vs Guinea. The stadium was fully packed with thousands of supporters from Guinea and Ghana which led to Ghana winning the first match of this Cup.


Are we sure that African football skills have developed since the last African Cup games in the past? Well lets wait and see, which team got more talents or have improved since the last time of the tournament, players like Diof of Senegal, who still plays in Europe, will he be able to give Senegal, another chance of winning or even be in the finals!


The Bafanabafana team of South Africa have to prove to the whole world and Africa, that they have improved in football game as well as the preparations of the world cup tournament in 2010. They have good players like McCathy who also plays in Europe, and a very successful career in football plus a well loved player in South Africa as well.


Nigeria used to be the Lions of Africa in football, they had the best players in Africa and at the same time, these players were the best in Europe too. J J Okocha was like today’s Ronaldino to the world, with his massive skills on football, he made the people enjoying the game while being in the pitch. Too bad that Nigeria have lost their momentum in football since years due to some new challenges in the game!






Drogba from the Ivory Coast squad, he is like the a bee ready to sting once he gets a chance on your lovely skin, he made a big name for himself in Europe and Africa. He plays for Chelsea football club as one of their best forwards that they cannot afford to lose. Will he be able to make the Ivory Coast people more proud as they are, and lift up the African Cup or even reach the finals? Lets wait and see!



Will Samuel Eto make it happen for the Cameroon, they will be meeting face to face with the Egyptians pharaohs(Championships), with Song in the back as a defender for Cameroon is going to make a really interesting match against each other, they are all giants teams of Africa with dreams of grabbing the African Cup of Nations.
